As a founding member of the Rockingham Council for Arts and Crafts and Founding and committee Member of the Rockingham Regional Arts (Inc), she enjoys giving back to the community and created H Plus Art.
Ann Hart was born in Scotland and emigrated to Sydney in1965 with her parents Margaret and John Ritchie. She has been a practising studio artist in the fields of ceramics and painting since living in Western Australia from 1985. In particular, her passion for contemporary Realism in Painting guided her to pursue further education within the arts.
In 1997 Ann completed an Advanced Certificate of Art and Design at the Central Metropolitan College of TAFE. In 2002 she attained a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts), Edith Cowan University. Ann has had numerous solo and group exhibitions. Her paintings are in many collections such as Edith Cowan University, Gallery East, Gallows Gallery, WA Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shire of Stirling, Gary Holland collection, St John of God and Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club.
Ann has pursued and challenged her artistic abilities within a diverse subject matter. This includes landscape, seascapes, portraiture and interiors, and is presently specialising in architectural landscapes within Western Australia. Ann is noted for her infinite, refined tonal values in which it takes many layers of thin oil paint to achieve. The playful nature of many of the works she states is to encourage the viewer to consider well known sites in a new coloured light and with a new perspective.
Simply, it's my only addiction and I just cannot live with it.
